Rachel's Mystery Dishcloth Knit Along ~ Day 1

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday, April 19, 2010 ~ Rows 1 to 7

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Materials:
.
1 Ball Worsted Weight Cotton
(I'm using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton ~ Tavern Green)
Size US 5 or US 6 (3.75mm or 4mm) knitting needles
.
**Note: The needle size is really up to you, but if you are a loose knitter, I would strongly suggest a smaller needle size for you so your stitches really "POP" out better! When you knit loose, the "picture" stitches sometimes get lost with the background stitches...remember...the tighter you knit, the better...so if you're not a tight knitter, try changing the size of your needles...let your needles do all the work for you :o)
.

Instructions:

Cast on 49sts.

Row 1: (k1, p1) across row to last st., k1.

Row 2: (k1, p1) across row to last st., k1.

Row 3: (k1, p1) across row to last st., k1.

Row 4: (k1, p1) across row to last st., k1.

I have never followed a knit along before, so I am having great fun with this one. I have purchased washcloth patterns from you in the past and I love them. I just sent my sister the I LOVE (with a heart) U SIS cloth. I am looking forward to tomorrows next rows!

This mystery knit-along intrigued me. Amazing how much trouble I had with the first few rows, such as mysteriously appearing yarn-overs and getting off pattern at least once. Did successfully complete the first seven rows. :)

Gotta be careful about WIPs both being worked on straights of similar color and pretty close size (I'm using US6 for this project, US8 for another in-progress).
